Sneaky Uncle Sam

There is so little proof for any of this, there is a lot of speculation in this article & joining up about fifty almost useless reports published on Wikileaks made available by Bradley Manning, Edward Snowden & other military whistleblowers.

When the American Department of Defence (DoD) develop a missile, to be built by a manufacturer, they ask for the manufacturer to make a lower powered version, with the same identification, available to the rest of the world.

The American missiles use the same rocket motors as the missiles available to the rest of the world; however, the rocket motors are far higher tuned for power & efficiency.

This is the reasons for American missile supremacy.

There are a few exceptions, where America allows a very select few to purchase the full power missiles from the manufacturers.

United Kingdom

Canada

France

Australia

South Korea (on a few specific missiles)

The United Kingdom plays a slightly different role

The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) tends to be further involved in the developments with US DoD.

Quite a few of the missiles currently used by the UK & US are designed by the UK.
